‘We’re here to make a good spot for us in Dutch Cricket’ – Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards still optimistic after team’s third-straight loss

The Dutch batting order was dismantled by the bowling of Pakistan, led by vice-captain Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim, for 91 runs in the allowed 20 overs.

On Sunday, October 30, the 29th game of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 pitted the Netherlands against Pakistan. Vice-captain Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Wasim were among the players on Pakistan’s starting lineup, and they only managed to bowl out the Dutch batting order for 91 runs in the allowed 20 overs.

The Netherlands made a concerted effort to keep the game moving while protecting the target and forced the Men in Green to bat till the 14th over to reach the finish line. Scott Edward’s team ultimately came out on the wrong side, dropping the game by a margin of six wickets.

We will now concentrate on winning the final two games. Andrew Edwards

Scott was questioned on the team’s outlook for the final two games of the competition.

In the post-match news conference, Edwards stated, “Obviously, it’s pretty much impossible to make it to the semis at this point, so now we will focus to win the remaining two matches and hopefully, make a solid spot for ourselves in Dutch cricket.”

Later, the young all-rounder Bas de Leede was injured by a vicious bouncer from Pakistani speedster Haris Rauf. The 26-year-old also spoke with the media about the latest information on his teammate and fellow young player.

Even though Pakistan won, the game ended up being another nightmare for Pakistan’s captain Babar. Only after he had a personal score of four did he succumb to a run-out. In three innings, he has only managed to score eight runs, a dismal average of 2.6.

Azam Khan has been told by former Pakistan fast-bowler Aqib Javed to either get fitter or stop playing cricket.

The 49-year-old stated to a local news station, “Azam Khan should either stop cricket or else change himself into a cricketer.”

Azam, who played for Pakistan in three Twenty20 Internationals against England in 2021, is the son of former Pakistani wicket-keeper and batter Moin Khan. The 23-year-old was initially selected for Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad in the United Arab Emirates, but Sarafraz Ahmed took his spot.

Khan established himself as a PSL 2020 player for the Quetta Gladiators. Before PSL 7, Islamabad United signed the middle-order batter, who provided his side with critical middle-order hits.

Azam is hopeful about rejoining the squad and hopes to compete in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

He remarked, “I just played seven balls in international cricket. “I’ve made mistakes, but I’m working to fix them. To represent Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup is my ambition.

It is important to note that Azam was included in the first T20 World Cup 2021 roster. However, because of his subpar performance in, he was replaced by former captain Sarfraz Ahmed.
