Those French or German citizens who intend to visit India need to be aware that they will need to pay extra to get an Indian Visa. They don’t have to pay for a visa to France. However, they need to show proof that they have enough financial resources to cover the duration of their stay in India. This can be in the form of a current bank statement, or an offer letter from their current institution.
If you’re a French or German citizen and want to visit India, you can now apply for an Indian Business e-Visa. You must submit your passport-sized photo and the required documents. You must also have a flight reservation that includes the flight number and dates. If you’re staying in an accommodation for more than two months, you must submit proof of that. A valid bank statement from the last six months is also required to show that you have sufficient funds for your trip.

Vaccinated travelers do not have to abide by additional rules
French and German citizens do not have to abide by any additional rules for getting an Indian visa if they have been vaccinated against rabies. However, there are exceptions to the rule. The rules do not apply to people from 16 countries where the vaccination rate is 10 percent or lower. These include Jamaica, the Ukraine, and Pakistan.
The US government has also eased its regulations on nonimmigrant travel to the country. Starting December 28, 2021, travelers from these countries do not need to comply with the restrictions on entry to the country. However, they must still present a COVID vaccination record.
The new rules were announced last October in President Joe Biden’s Proclamation for Safe Global Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic. The order from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also issued technical instructions to protect travelers from this disease. However, the new rules will not affect green card holders and U.S. citizens.
